Sneak Peek Day 2 – and a video!

The road to a friend’s house is never long.”

cottage home flower soft cardI’ve always loved that quote and am so happy we were able to include it in this new set Cottage Home, designed by Lauren Pope.  The set includes two main images (the smaller shown here) and several sentiments and you will want to break out your Flower Soft because this is the perfect  stamp set for it!

Want a chance to win this set?  Read on to the end of this post for all the details!

I normally don’t use orange colors, but the Autum Flower Soft color just seemed to be calling out to be used and when everything was said and done I am happy with how it turned out.

I stamped the image on Flourishes Classic White Cardstock (which was also used for the cuttlebugged embossed background)  in Palette Ink – Noir.  The copic collections in Spring Green, Sky, and Flesh Tones 2  were used to color.  Flower Soft Autumn was applied last.

The sky color was  my first attempt at airbrushing using the copic airbrush system and a small air compressor.    If you are on the fence about getting an air compressor, or just want some basic information, watch the video below.  On it I describe the basic working parts of the compressor, the copic airbrush system and show how I colored the sky.  I hope you find it helpful!

Sneak Peek Day3 – Release Day!!

Whew – it’s day three of sneak peek  and its release day!  Today we’re pushing daisies – Gerber Daisies that is!!  Marcella Hawley does it again in this floral set, which was a set that was most requested by our customers.  Read on further to the end to find out how you can win this set.

I stamped the main image three times (masking as I went – and I am ever so grateful for Eclipse Masking Tape!) on Flourishes Classic White cardstock.  The image was colored using the copic collections of Daffodil and Spring Greens, along with the new Melon Mambo ink and paper from SU – don’t you just love how the yellow and green copic collection works so well with this new paper?  Palette ink – burnt umber was used for the flowers and butterfly.  Now I have no idea if gerber daisies are yellow with pink centers real life, but on this blog they exist!

Once the main panel was complete, I used three layers of UTEE to make it look like a tile – here is a close up photo..I hope you can see the tiled effect.  The ribbon is from my stash and I have no idea where it came from!!
