Thinking warm thoughts

Thought I would share something to warm us up!  This clean and simple card worked up quickly with reverse masking a circle and sponging 3 different colors of ink over it.  The palm tree image is from Creative Visions.   Kept the overall look of the card simple in order to keep the focus on the colors.  Stay warm and thanks for stopping by!

Did you know that there is a waterlily in the Amazon where the leaves grow between 4 and 6 feet wide and can hold a child?    I would love to see something like that!  So while there are no giant waterlilies here there is a waterlily card!

The image is from Creative Vision called Lily Pads and is found here.  I colored the image with copic markers.  The water was colored using several blue copics – alternating light and dark colors.

It’s “hot and humid” season here in Florida!  Time to stay in the air conditioning or head to the beach.  So, here in my craft room I want to cool down by coloring some fall leaves.  Here is my latest card..

The leaves are from Creative Visions called Two Leaves shown here.  They are beautifully drawn and nicely detailed.  I colored them with copic markers in shades of red/purple to coordinate with the basic grey paper.  The brad is from Nunn Designs.

Yellow rose

Who does not love roses?  We have a few knock out rose bushes in our front yard and they seem to bloom forever here in Florida.  Did you know that the color of roses each have their own meaning?  You may have guessed that red roses symbolize love, and white roses are for weddings – reflecting young love and pink represents gratitude.  Yellow roses signify friendship and I thought I would make a card with a yellow rose.

The image is from Creative Vision called single stem rose shown here.  It was colored with copic markers and sponged with grey ink.  The patterned paper is from DCWV which has a yellow, green and grey pallet with bits of glitter throughout.

We’ve seen a few bluebirds this year but none have elected to nest in any of our birdhouses.  We are fortunate to have a nice variety of birds that “hang out” in our backyard and we provide feeders, birdhouses and a birdbath for them.  The area directly behind the house is wooded and I am sure that helps.   So…..a bluebird card is called for!

The image is from Creative Visions and is called Bluebird of Happiness and is shown here.  It was colored with copic markers.  The patterned paper is from Memory box.
