clean and simple christmas

Greetings stamping friends!!  Less than two weeks until Christmas – I hope everything is well wherever you are.  Today I am sharing a clean and simple card for the wonderful lady that watches our Chihuahua’s whenever we travel.  She is a real sweetheart and we always know the dogs are in good hands when we are gone.

The dog stamp is from Amuse, the sentiment is from Waltzingmouse.  Simple paper piecing for the little bag and just a tad of color on the dog and I was done.  I kept the color scheme simple as well – just black, white and red. The checked ribbon and scallop border punch were just enough to add interest to the design while keeping things simple.

All the best to you and yours!!

A snowy scene

Hello crafty friends!!  Are you ready for the holidays?  My shopping is done, gifts are wrapped and cards have been mailed so now I can relax a bit.

I want to share with you something I made with the latest set from Technique Tuesday’s Greenhouse Society club.  The set is called Berries and comes with one main branch image and three small sentiments.  It is the perfect set for a clean and simple holiday card.  Some easy sponging and stamping with a little glitter added for sparkle and you are done!

I started by taking a piece of white cardstock and masked one portion with a scrap of cardstock cut to mimic a hill.  I sponged Memento’s Summer Sky and Danube Blue inks above the mask.

I took another scrap of cardstock and cut it slightly different to create another hill.  I positioned this mask lower than the first and sponged again with the same inks.  By doing this you end up with two “hills”

I stamped the Berry branch in Memento Tuxedo Black, colored the berries with a red marker and stamped the sentiment in Memento Rhubarb stalk.

To add a little sparkle I glued some Martha Stewart glitter on a few branches.

I created a few cards with this panel as well as a gift card holder – shown below.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

it’s the holiday season

Yes, it has been awhile since I posted here.  I’ve been busy with many things – some traveling as well as crafting.    I just have not had the time to update the blog – but we are in full swing for Christmas and I thought I would post a thing or two.

I’m participating in an ornament swap this season and wanted to show the quick and easy way I packaged it.  Here is a photo.

The ornament came with its own box.  I wrapped it in simple white linen wrapping paper.  I purchased a large roll of the wrapping paper at a local supply store that is open to the public but sells bulk paper goods to stores and restaurants.  I love the clean look of white – and I can use it for any occasion so there is no need to purchase separate paper for birthdays, weddings, Christmas, etc.  The green ribbon is from the $1 ribbon bin from Michael’s.  If you dig around in these bins you can generally find “regular” colors – green, red, blue, etc.  The decoration on top was purchased for $1 at Michael’s during their after Christmas sale.

The sentiment is from Papertrey’s Stylish Sentiments:  Holiday set.  I’ve used the sentiments on this set so many times – it has become my “go-to” set because it is so perfect not just for cards but for tags as well.  I embossed it in gold to coordinate with the decoration on top.  Here is a closer look.

So – with just a little work I ended up with a pretty package!!

Thanks for stopping by – I hope your holiday season is going well!

The Greenhouse Society

Hello friends.  I’m back in my craft room – and it feels great!!  I want to share a card I made with an image from the Greenhouse Society Club at Technique Tuesday.  Do you know about this club?  When you join, they will send you a limited edition stamp set each month.  They are all floral/plant designs with a few sentiments.  They offer a few sets to people who are not members of the club (at a higher price) but there is a limited stock available.  This card was created using the first issued set – it is no longer available.  The sentiment is from Papertrey. Thanks for stopping by today!

a new card and a new look!

Happy Memorial Day to my USA friends!   I hope you are enjoying the day off from work.

Have you noticed the new look of my blog?  I decided to make a change and go with this new workpress theme.  I’ll be tweaking things over  the next few weeks as I work through the details and get better aquainted with all the features.  In the meantime here is a clean and simple card using Papertrey stamps and Memento inks.
