I Brake For…..Acorn Wreath!

Hello stampers and Happy Fall!  I hope you are all welcoming this beautiful season with an abundance of color!  I have a very nice fall card to show you today – using a lovely stamp from I Brake For Stamps.

The image is called Acorn Wreath and can be found here.  I just love wreath stamps and this one can be used in a variety of ways – fall birthday, welcome, thank you or even fall weddings.

I stamped the image with Memento ink and colored it with copics.  I kept it a bit clean and simple, letting a strip of patterned paper and a leaf embossing folder do the work.  And the colors really pop against the crisp white cardstock.

Take a look over at the IBFS store  – they have a wonderful selection of wreath stamps  (I think I counted about 15!), along with some great fall and winter holiday images.

Sisterhood of Crafters

Hello crafty friends.  Today is the day where the Sisterhood of Crafters Challenge Blog starts a new challenge for the month.  Today’s challenge is to use dies.  Here is my card – my first Christmas card of the season.

I love this quilt die, but I have to admit it is a bit of a bear to work with.  I am only using part of the die – there are many smaller pieces surrounding the main star pattern, as well as a outline where you place all the pieces.  Like a jigsaw puzzle…which I was never really fond of!

The beautiful red paper is an old pattern called Lush from My Minds Eye.  The patterned paper is a velvet flock and is absolutely gorgeous.  I’ve hoarded my stash for years and make a couple of Christmas cards with it each year.  I only have a few sheets left of this and it will be hard when it is all used up!

This card will go to my older sister, who makes beautiful quilts.  This is about as close as I will get to making one!!

Hop on over to the Sisterhood of Crafters Blog and take a look at what the other designers have made and enter your own creation.  All the details can be found HERE.

I Brake For….Hyacinth!

The YouTube ID of Insert video URL or ID here is invalid. Hello stampers and welcome to Wednesday and I Brake  For Stamps.  Today’s card features one of the new floral images recently released.

The stamp is called Hyacinth and can be found here as a single stamp, or part of a larger set called  Lovely Florals found here.  All are beautifully drawn and color up quickly.

I used three blue copic markers for the blossoms and three YG markers for the leaves and stem.  The background was embossed with a swiss dot folder but it did not stand out against the base card so I rubbed a white pigment inkpad over it to bring out the embossing.  Some lace ribbon and blue raffia were added for more texture.  I know sequins are all the rage now, but I just don’t like the look of them and I have a ton of rhinestones so I added those to the bottom – they were clear and I colored them with a blue copic marker to coordinate with the rest of the card.

Usually with flower images I color up a few test images before making the final color decision.  In this case I colored up one using RV copic markers.  It came out very nice so I decided to make a second card, using the same design layout and base card.  Here is that version.

I hope you like what you see here.  Hop on over to the IBFS store to find this and thousands of other stamps.  Use code SAVE10NANCY and save 10% off your order.

I Brake For …..Tulips!

Hello fellow stampers and thank you for joining me this Wednesday as I show another new stamp from I Brake For Stamps.

The image is called Tulip and can be found here as a single stamp, or part of a larger set called Lovely Florals, found here.  The sentiment called Be The Change can be found here.

I stamped the tulip once then masked it and stamped it again two more times.  It’s a beautifully drawn image and was easy to color up -I used copics in the RV and Y ranges for the blossoms and YG for the leaves.

I wanted the image to take center stage so I used primarily white cardstock with just some darker orange for the mat.,  An embossed background adds just enough texture.

So, it’s been quite a week here in Florida.  I am happy to report that since we live in the far northwest part of the state we did not see any of Hurricane Irma here.  It’s probably the only part of the state that did not.  Having been through two significant hurricanes since moving here I feel for those who have suffered losses from this storm.  It will take a long time for many people to recover and I am hoping for the best outcome for everyone.

Thank you so much for stopping by today .  I hope you will hop on over to the IBFS store to check out these new stamps in addition to the thousands of other stamps available there.

Oh Boy!

Hello friends – It’s time for another challenge at the Sisterhood of Crafters Challenge Blog.   The challenge is a Boy Theme – all the details are found here.

My card uses no stamps – just a fabulous die set.

I used paper from a Christmas paper pack I’ve  had for years.    Love the plaid pattern – doesn’t just about every little boy end up in a  plaid sweater vest and bow tie at least once in his life?   I hope you’ll participate is this challenge and look forward to checking out all the card.
