what can you do with those $1 stamps?

Over the years I’ve accumulated a bunch of those inexpensive $1 stamps you find at Michael’s and JoAnn’s.  At that price they are hard to resist, but I usually forget about them, instead reaching for my larger stamp sets.

Well, while working on some christmas cards I was looking for some snowflake stamps and came across a couple of my dollar stamps and decided to put them to work on this quick and easy card!

Since I already had created three holiday cards with a traditional red and green color scheme, it was time to work with another color.  This card is a simple layout and color scheme using PTI’s aqua mist paper and ink.  I love this shade of blue/green, although the photo does not really show the true color.  The snowflake stamp is a small (about 2.5″ long) rubber stamp that I just repeatedly stamped on white cardstock.  The sentiment is from a $1 clear set that included some other snowflake images that were not used.    The edges were sponged with the same ink and a silver cord (from SU) finishes it off.

I like how it turned out, but think I will tweak the sketch a bit, showing more of the cardbase and making the main panel smaller.    Either way, this was and easy and quick way to put together a holiday card!

Thanks for stopping by today!
