clean and simple Monday

Hello friends!

How is your December going?  The holidays are in full swing here!   My shopping is done (yay!!!), the packages are wrapped and ready to be mailed.  The lights are up outside and our tree is up, but not yet decorated.  Today I’ll be baking Christmas cookies for a party we are going to tomorrow night, so I’ll be in the kitchen all day but wanted to share two cards I made for today’s Clean and Simple challenge at Splitcoast Stampers which is ways to use bows.

In this first card I used sheer chocolate ribbon to make a 3 loop bow and used the ends to act as a “picture hanger”.  The wreath and sentiment are from Flourishes and were stamped with Memento Cocoa and Rhubarb ink.  An SU cherry cobbler marker was used to color the berries on the wreath.

The paper is also from SU – the fabulous cherry cobbler red and rich espresso – love these two new colors!

The second card started out as an accident!  I was cutting a scallop circle using nestabilities and it was not the right size, so I overlayed another scallop circle over it to gauge the size.  As soon as I saw the two scallop circles together I saw by combining them it would create a scalloped wreath!    Then, laying on my desk was this last bit of red/green edge ribbon.  I made a bow and placed it at the top of the wreath, then just stated wrapping the long end around the wreath.  I had just enough ribbon to go around it – really, how often does that happen!   To keep the design clean and simple I just placed it on a white card that was embossed with the swiss dot embossing folder.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you will check out the clean and simple challenge this week!
