carnation, butterfly and lace

What do you do when you want something to jazz up your white card?    Add lace ribbon to the front!

When I finished coloring the main panel of this card, I placed it on a plain white card base and it looked just that – plain.  I thought of embossing the base but wanted to do something different, but still have a subtle look without overwhelming the focal point.  As I looked around my craft room I spied that box of ribbons my sister-in-law gave me last summer  when we visited her.  She has a sewing/craft room in her home filled with all sorts of fabric, buttons, trim, etc.  While visiting her we stopped at their LSS.  I found some paper and was checking out the ribbon section when she told me she has a closet full of ribbon and would love it if I would take it off her hands as she does not really use it.

So, I ended up with a box of ribbon and lace trim!  Back to the card….looking through the box I found several different lace ribbons and chose one to cover the front of the card.  I just ran strips of tape using an ATG gun on the front and placed the lace in rows across it.  It took about 6 rows of lace to cover the front and I really love the look it created!

Thanks Leona for the ribbon and lace!
