clean and simple monday – violets

This weeks clean and simple challenge on SCS is a sketch challenge based on one of my cards!    That card can be found here.  For the challenge I decided on this violet stamp (from Flourishes) and paired it with white.

The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black on Copic X-press it blending cardstock and colored with copic markers listed below.  The V09 color is very intense and you really only need a bit of it on the blossoms.

A note about green copic markers.  If you like to color flowers and are selecting greens from your copic collection, don’t just look at the “G” series for you color, but take a look at the “YG” series as well.  I used several YG colors – they are a nice olive green and go so well with this particular image and go well with the rich violet color.

I wanted a white card, but the plain white base looked too plain, so I embossed a white panel – not sure if you can tell it is embossed in the photo, cut the bottom with a scallop border die and then mounted it on another white card.  The violet ribbon is silk from May Arts.

Thanks so much for stopping by today – I hope you can join us this week at SCS for the clean and simple challenge!
