matching card and box

Hello friends!    My regular internet service has been down since Friday – can’t believe how much I needed it!  Doing blog posts via the smartphone is too difficult for me at this time!!!  Anyway – I am back in business!

Are you starting to get into the holiday spirit?  I’ve completed a number of my Christmas cards and am working on little gift boxes and gift card holders.   Here is a matching card and box I made for the “free for all” challenge on SCS this past week.

The card is made with cryogen white cardstock along with solid and patterned paper from the SEI Winter Song pack.  The poinsettia was made with the same cryogen cardstock using Spellbinders Poinsettia die and a leaf from their Foliage die set.  This was mounted on a Lacey Circle die, also from Spellbinders.  A clear rhinestone was colored with a copic marker and placed in the center of the poinsettia.  The cryogen paper is heavyweight but soft enough to allow a nice deep embossing.  It also has a wonderful shimmer to it – perfect for holiday cards!  The sentiment is from Flourishes and was stamped with Memento Rhubarb stalk.    Here is a closer look at the card.

The box uses the same paper as the card.  For the front I used only 3 of the 4 blooms of the poinsettia die along with a leaf die from Sizzix.  You can tell fron this photo how nice this die embosses.  The ribbon is actually seam binding.  Here is a close up:

Thanks so much for stopping by today – join me tomorrow and I’ll show you some fabric covered ornaments I finished yesterday!
