working with border stamps

You probably have a bunch of them in your stamp stash – border stamps.  And when you use them you probably make….borders!  How about looking at those images in a different way.  Here is my clean and simple card that uses a border stamp to make a circular background.

The card came together quickly – using a simple design and color scheme while letting the elegant images show through.  I started by cutting a circle out of a piece of cardstock and used the negative space to create the design on the front of the card.  Here’s a look – and I taped down the card and the mask while I was doing this since I needed to stamp the border several times within the confines of the mask.

Once that was completed I stamped another border image – the diamond pattern – in the same ink and created a banner by mounting it on dark brown cardstock.  A Tim Holtz die created the paper flowers which were embellished with a pretty brad I had in my stash.  The sentiment was stamped in cocoa.

Ink and stamps are from Papertrey, white cardstock is from Neenah.
