using wood

I’m showing something a little different today.  I made this card for the last weeks SCS challenge which calls for using wood on a card.  That material may sound unusual for cardmaking but it did not require the use of actual wood.  However, I remembered that I had some wood veneer samples sent to me awhile ago from Dowlen Wood and Paper Crafts.   There were some small pieces of real wood veneer – some mounted on thin chipboard, some not.

So…I made this clean and simple card:

wood heart

I used a piece of wood veneer that had been mounted on chipboard and die cut a heart our of the center.  The decorative paper (from Basic Grey) was placed behind the panel  using foam tape to provide a bit of dimension.  The sentiment on the front and the script text on the back panel are from Papertrey.  The flowers are from prima.

Thanks for stopping by today!!
