Bottle Brush Tree

Hello again crafty friends!   I hope things are going well for you as we get ready to celebrate Thanksgiving Day here in the USA.  It’s still pleasantly warm here in Florida (although the mornings have been chilly) …it looks like it will be in the 70’s for today and tomorrow.

Today my Christmas cards are taking a more traditional route.  How do you like bottle brush trees for decorations?  I love the nostalgic look of them.  I don’t think they’ve ever gone out of  style.  I have two cards using the same stamp – just different color schemes.  This first is done in wintery whites and cool blues with some pops of red.  I love these colors for Christmas.

The tag was cut with a silhouette – which made it easy to do both the main piece the blue mat.  The cardstock and patterned paper were purchased as a pack at Michaels so everything coordinates!  The snowflake is a Martha Stewart punch.  THe image is from a Power Poppy set and was colored with copics.

There pops of sparkle on the ornaments and snowflake.  I used a sakura starburst gel pen for this.  Here are some close ups of the sparkle.

The second card uses papers from another holiday pack from Michaels and has a warm flannel/lodge feel.  Colored with traditional reds and greens with pops of gold sparkle – it will make you want to light that yule log!

I have more cards to show but will probably not get to them until after the Thanksgiving holiday.  I wish all of you well!

Thanks for stopping by!
