sunny monday

What a beautiful day it is today here in sunny Florida!   We are having our usual wonderful warm weather  and I have a bright sunny card for today!

The images are from the newly released You Are Cherished set from Mark’s Finest Papers.   I love this black-eyed susan image and have several already colored in different shades.  This one is the more traditional yellow and orange shades – it was colored with various YR copic markers.

The green and patterned paper are from Basic Grey’s Kioshi line.  The gorgeous yellow paper and ribbon are from Mark’s Finest Papers – called Morning Sun  and it is a rich and vibrant yellow!

I also used an SU corner punch, a Martha Stewart border punch and a button and brad from my stash.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Mark’s Finest Papers January Release Day 3!

Hello! Welcome to Mark’s Finest Papers a Heinrich Company’s January Blog Hop!
This month’s New Stamp Set Releases are
Love Remains Featured January 17
Cowgirls Rule Featured January 18
Sending Happy Thoughts Featured January 19
You Are Cherished Featured January 20

Today’s blog hop features a wonderful postal set called Sending Happy Thoughts.  Instead of a card I chose to do a cute treat box – since next month is filled with events (Valentines Day, Mardi Gras, my husbands birthday) there will be plenty of opportunities to give out treats!

I made the box using a beautiful green linen cardstock from MFP called  August Greens Linen.   I love the look of linen  cardstock and the color went perfectly with the yellows of the black eyed susan image.

The image was stamped with memento tuxedo black ink and colored with copics, sponged with memento sky around the edges.   The “hello” sentiment is from the same set and stamped in black.  The background leaf image is from the Love Remains set released earlier this week and was stamped with memento new sprout ink.  The gorgeous yellow satin ribbon is called Bright Sunrise and is also available from Mark’s Finest papers.

Please hop along with us! You have a chance to win one of the above stamp sets! Just comment on the following blogs (don’t forget this one), each day for more chances to win! (You do NOT have to comment on all the blogs each day! The names are drawn randomly!)We will announce all four winners on January 21, 2012 on the Mark’s Finest Papers blog. You can go back and comment if you missed a day. Mark’s Finest Papers

soft summer colors

Even though all the crafty stores are filled with Halloween, thanksgiving and Christmas merchandise, it is still the dog days of summer.  I have not yet started my holiday cards just yet – kudos to you who have!   This card is for this weeks color challenge at SCS – using the soft summery colors of blush, wisteria and sand.  With these colors it is hard to do something other than “soft and pretty”.  Here is the card:

I used the beautiful black eyed susan image from the new  Mark’s Finest Paper set of the same name.  I won the set in their most recent release blog candy (thanks Faith!!) and am so thrilled to be able to use it right away!

I stamped and embossed the image in white on lavender paper and mounted it on blush, then sand.  On the bottom of the base card the image is stamped in lavender.  An SU border punch was used to frame the top and bottom of the main panel.  The sentiment is from Papertrey and was stamped in cocoa ink.  The ribbon is from May Arts.
