blue blossoms

Here is another example of stamping on colored cardstock then using prisma pencils to color in the image.

blue blossoms

I colored the blossoms with a white pencil, then used a light and dark shade of blue over the white. Prisma pencils in Powder Blue and Copenhagen were used.  I used a “spatter” stamp in white ink to add a little detail to the main panel.  The sentiment is from Papertrey and was stamped and embossed in white.  The pearls started out white and I used a copic marker to color them to match the blue used on the card.

clean and simple monday

Today’s clean and simple challenge at SCS is to “do over”  one of your previous cards.  A while back I made a card with a cherry blossom stamp and bleached out the petals.  The card {shown here} came out nice, but I’m happy to “re-do” in a clean and simple version.

The sketch was taken from the CAS Fall to Layout Sketch #79.

I started by stamping and embossing the image, from Rubber Stampede on a piece of paper from The Paper Company.  It was just the right shade to go with the textured cardstock from Bazzill.

I bleached out the blosssoms and branches then used prisma pencils in pink to lightly add color.  The panel was mounted on a piece of chocolate.  The pink strip (from SU) was stamped with a PTI sentiment in Memento Rich Cocoa.

A thing about bleaching.  If you are using bleach in this manner you must emboss the image first, otherwise the bleach will run all over.  The embossing acts as little walls to contain the bleach.

Also, test out your paper first.  I was going to use another color for this card – one more brown than green and when I tested a piece, the bleached areas came out pale yellow, not white.    It still looked good and I will most likely use that test piece for another project, it  just was  not the look I wanted today.
