clean and simple monday

It’s been awhile since I participated in the CAS challenge over at SCS, but today is one of those clean and simple days!

Up here in Northwest Florida it looks like we are going to dodge the Tropical Storm Debbie bullet as it seems the worst of it will be east of us.  Here is hoping everyone affected by this storm is doing ok.  We’re just getting into the start of hurricane season here and it is always touch and go when these storms come our way.

So – a little  easy coloring and clean and simple sketch is in order.

I stamped the image on Copic X-press it paper and colored with copics.  I used the same image with versamark on the base card.  The patterned paper is from Memory Box and the ribbon is really seam binding.  I think the cardstock is from SU – its just something I pulled from my stash to go with the colors in the patterned paper.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Here is another card made with an image from the lovely Dogwood Blossoms set from Mark’s Finest Papers.  The sentiment is from MFP’s Magnolia set.

The image was stamped in Memento  Black and colored with Prisma Pencils.  I used two shades of the same color on the blossoms and the leaves, starting with the darker color along the edge then blending the lighter color in over the darker.

The cardstock is all MFP, the patterned paper is from Basic Gray.  An  EK Success border punch was used and the ribbon is from my stash.

Thanks for stoppng by today.

clean and simple sentiment

For cardmakers, often we focus our work on putting an image on a front of a card and let the sentiment be somewhat of an afterthought.  Today I wanted to make the sentiment center stage on this card.

The design itself is clean and simple but has enough detail to make it interesting.   On the main panel the background was stamped with the dogwood branch from Mark’s Finest Papers Dogwood Blossoms set in versamark.   Using images to make background paper is such a great way to get the maximum use of all your images!  The sentiment, from the same set, was stamped Memento Rich Cocoa ink.   The leaf die is my latest purchase – it is just a portion of a die from Cheery Lynn Dies and the detail on the leaves is very nice.   The butterfly punch is from Martha Stewart.

All the paper is from Mark’s Finest Papers – Florida Peach, Sage Green and White Linen.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Today is the final blog hop and it features a set that has become my favorite – Dogwood Blossoms.  This gorgeous set can be used for just about any occasion – I used it today for a Thank You card.
I started with a piece of MFP’s sage green cardstock – I love this color because it goes with everything!  I stamped the dogwood branch on the cardstock with Memento Rich Cocoa ink.  then I stamped the branch again on MFP’s White Linen cardstock – the linen add just enough texture to the blossoms.  The blossoms were colored with just a hint of copics in the R series, cut out and popped up on the sage cardstock.   I don’t know if you can tell by the photo, but I also applied some color to the leaves with a YG copic marker.
The base card was also stamped with the same image, but in versamark.   I added a little blush cardstock as a mat and a pretty narrow white satin ribbon.
I just LOVE this set and will use it often!
