I Brake For…..Bass Fish

Hello stampers – it’s Wednesday and time  to show you another  great stamp from I Brake For Stamps.  This one is called Bass Fish,  Here is my card.

Let me tell you that I love the size of this image.  Big enough to fill a card and great for coloring.  When I first saw this image I thought it would make a great masculine card – and perfect for Father’s Day for those men who love to fish.  Then I thought….I know several women who love to fish as well – just as much as the guys.  This would make a great card for those women!  It made me realize that I have to get past the old traditional “if it’s a fish its masculine, if it’s a flower its feminine” thinking.  In fact, I used to work with a guy who had the most amazing flower garden in his backyard.  I could definitely send him a floral card and not feel funny about it.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with copics.  I sponged some Memento Cantaloupe ink around the edges.  On the base card the text “GO FISH” is computer generated.

The Bass Fish stamp can be found here. I hope you hop on over to the IBFS store and take a look at the thousands of stamps available.  Use the code SAVE10NANCY and get 10% off your order.

I Brake For…Luncheon Meat!

Lunchoen Meat???  Hi everyone it’s Wednesday and time to show you what I did with the cute and funny stamp  from I Brake For Stamps called Luncheon Meat.  First let me show you what the stamp looks like:

Cute, right?  I love the look on the faces of the fish and the helpless worm!  I wanted to go in a different direction with this stamp though.  Here is my card:

To get the most use of my stamps I try to think of various ways to use them.  My card is an exercise in masking and using a stamp positioning tool (I used the stamp-a-ma-jig).  Once everything was stamped I pulled out my copic markers,  set up a rainbow palette and went to work.   My inspiration for the card was this t-shirt:

Once the fish were all colored I worked on the background.  The Watercolored look of the background was created using copic colorless blender in an aqua brush.  I then scribbled some very rich blue color (B69) on a craft sheet,  picked it up with the aqua brush and simply brushed on the color.

Now, if you don’t have copic colorless blender you can use rubbing alcohol but the color many not be the same.  I did a video on this technique a few weeks back and if you are interested you can see it here.

The sentiment on the bottom of the card is computer generated,

The Luncheon Meat stamp can be found on the IBFS store here.

Then I did a second card.  Have you ever cut your stamps apart?  This is one of those stamps that can be cut apart and used in a variety of ways.  In the next card I used the worm an two of the fish.  I can see using those fish individually for so many different cards. The worm and fish were colored, cut out and popped up.  And it was a bit tricky cutting that little worm!!  The waves were created using a couple of curved border dies and I don’t know if you can see it well from the picture but the bottom of the card is embossed with a design that looks like waves.

I hope you have enjoyed these cards.  Please take a look at the IBFS store to find all sorts of fish stamps!   Use the code SAVE10NANCY to get 10% off your purchase.

Today’s post shows the latest set – Get Reel – a fantastic fishing set!

I really loved working with this set – it contains two silhouette images and a number of sentiments some of which are perfect for Father’s Day.
I sponged a variety of Memento inks to get the sunset and water, then stamped the image and sentiment with black ink.  Paper piercing one side and adding some square rhinestones on the lower right seemed just the right touch for this masculine card.
Please hop along with us! You have a chance to win one of the above stamp sets! Get Reel – sneak peek!

Today’s sneak peek show two images from the new Get Reel set – to be issued next week by Mark’s Finest Papers.

I love the sentiment and the set is perfect for masculine cards – or anyone who likes to fish.  The panel behind the sentiment shows just a portion of the image.

To make the scene I masked off the horizon and sponged blue inks on the bottom and shades of pink on top.  All inks are from Memento.

Stop by tomorrow for another sneak peek!
