Sisterhood of Crafters

Hello my fellow crafters!  It’s time once again for a new challenge at the Sisterhood of Crafters Challenge Blog.  Todays challenge is called “Let The Sparks Fly” – meaning anything that sparkles is air game!   Here is my card – doing a Christmas theme for this one!

Just about everything sparkles on this card!  I started with cardstock called Cryogen White – it is a lovely heavy duty card stock that has a beautiful shimmer to it.  It is not really a pure white, but more something between a try ivory and white.  Of course I have covered most of it up but it does shimmer -trust me!

Then I took my stamps and found a gold embossing powder that contained gold glitter.  I’ve had it for years and really only bring it out during the holidays.  The background stamps are from an old Waltzingmouse set called Nordic Winter and the phrase is from a Papertrey set of Christmas sentiments.  I used the glittery embossing powder on all the stamps.  Of course by the end I had the stuff all over me!  Even the ribbon I used has gold thread throughout it.

Here is a closer look – trying to capture the sparkle of the embossing powder – always hard to do in a photo!

I  hope you will join in with us over at the Sisterhood blog – thanks so much for stopping by today!

all that glitters part 2

hello crafty friends!

Here is more glittery goodness for you. Another clean and simple card using kraft cardstock and glitter.

I cut simple triangles from white cardstock to make the trees.   They were applied with Martha  Stewart Glitter (I ran them thru a xyron first but you could also use glue).

The background kraft panel and base card were first sponged with white pigment ink (from CTMH), then sprayed at the top with adhesive spray and sprinkled with glitter to get the sparkly effect.    It looks better irl – very sparkly!

Hope you are enjoying the fall season wherever you are!
