Sisterhood of Crafters

Hello stampers!  It’s time for another new challenge over at the Sisterhood of Crafters Blog!  Todays challenge theme is “I See Spots!”.  So anything with spots, dots, etc. is good to go.  Break out that dotted embossing folder, dotted ribbon, paper or stamps and enter in the challenge. All the details are here.

Here is my card for the challenge.

So, I know this is more of a summery card, but when I saw the theme of the challenge for some reason I thought of a Lemon stamp set I had and thought I could do something with the lemon slice.

Now here is a fun tip – this particular stamp itself is a “detail stamp”  – meaning the detail outline in the card (the redish/orange outline) is the actual stamp.  I did not want to color in all those lemon slices and needed to find a round solid stamp to fill in the color.  Since this is a clear stamp, all I did was turn the detail stamp over and use the back side as a solid image stamp.

Take a look at the photo below – I flipped the detail stamp over and used it as a solid stamp to make the circles.

Then I turned the stamp right side up to get the detail and stamped it in a darker color.

I wonder just how many other clear detail stamps I have that can be used in this manner?

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!
